Robson Green
After leaving school Robson pursued a career in Naval Architecture at Swan Hunter Ship builders but soon realised that if Ship Building and he were to survive they would have to part. His first major TV role was as hospital porter Jimmy Powell in BBC drama series Casualty in 1989. He then went on to portray various characters in TV and Film series such as Reckless, Touching Evil and The Last Musketeer. Robson appeared in many theatrical productions including The Mystery Plays in which he landed the role of Jesus. After seeing Robson’s portrayal of the sin of the almighty a critic wrote ‘Robson Green plays Jesus. I’m not sure what Robson Green was playing at but it was hard to believe anyone would follow him across the stage let alone Israel!
As a TV presenter he has fronted shows such as Extreme Fishing, Extreme Fishing Challenge, during which time he had many a close encounter with various creatures from the deep including a Great White Shark and that was the day Jesus wasn’t the only man to have walked in water. He fronted many series of Tales from Northumberland a place he is still very proud to call home. He currently plays Detective Inspector Geordie Keating on ITV’s Grantchester. He was one half of the singing duo Robson & Jerome, who had several No. 1 singles and albums in the 1990s keeping the likes of Oasis, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and Elton John off the number one spot. Robson Remains to this day to be an attention seeker and an artist in desperate need of approval.
