Mark Cockburn
Mark has been a passionate ?sherman all of his life. From his early days of chasing trout in burns and lochs across Scotland to the current day where you are more likely to see him chasing Atlantic Salmon in rivers across the UK and indeed, internationally. Mark is never happier than when he is on the river bank.
Having recently stepped down as CEO of FishPal, where he spent some 10 years leading the team with a passion to be able to o?er increased access to both a?ordable and available ?shing, he is now looking to harness that knowledge and experience in 2022 and continue to play a key part within the ?shing industry.
Mark’s passion for salmon ?shing over so many years has meant he really does care about the future of our salmon stocks and wants to help raise awareness to the work of the Trust.
Mark says, “given the ongoing problems we seem to have with only 1 in 20 smolts returning to our rivers as fully mature salmon, all the work the AST is doing to investigate ongoing issues in our rivers and in the Atlantic Ocean seem to make perfect sense to me. I am more than happy to be closely involved and help where I can.”
As an Ambassador, Mark is hoping to not only help spread the news about all the good work the AST is undertaking across his extensive network of contacts within the ?shing community and beyond, but also hopes to help ?nd new sponsors and donors to help fund further projects under consideration.
Great to have Mark on board as a passionate AST Ambassador and we very much look forward to working with him.
