AST Supports Small Coastal Streams Study

A recently published paper, examining small coastal streams and the role they play as a critical reservoir for trout genetic diversity, is now available online.  The study found that where such streams are relatively pristine, they can host trout populations with diversity levels comparable to those found in much larger rivers. Worryingly, the authors predict significant future losses of genetic diversity in the trout populations inhabiting small, isolated catchments.

The AST is delighted to have contributed to this valuable study, and congratulate the scientists & researchers involved for their findings. Read the paper in full by clicking here.
