Want to join our team and play a role in restoring wild Atlantic salmon and their environment? Our current vacancies are listed below.
Research Director
The Atlantic Salmon Trust is seeking an exceptional candidate to inspire and lead the science team of the organisation. As a leading conservation charity our aim is to improve the freshwater and marine populations of Atlantic salmon and sea trout from catchments flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. Evidence obtained and co-ordinated through both our own and others’ research and monitoring activities is a vital component to power and drive this work forward.
Whilst the role is based in the UK the Trust has a reach and reputation that extends globally around the fisheries and catchment restoration world. Key to this is an evidence-based approach to informing management and the realisation that salmon are a unique indicator of the health of our rivers and oceans.
The Research Director will lead the scientific team that delivers the research and monitoring roles of the Trust. Whilst the Trust is based in Perthshire, the role will involve working in close collaboration with other organisations, particularly those in the Missing Salmon Alliance, and partners around the Atlantic and increasingly with colleagues from the Pacific Basin.
This is a hugely exciting, challenging and rewarding senior position where the successful candidate will be supported by an excellent board of Trustees and an exceptional team of staff, dedicated to wild salmon and sea trout conservation.
