Outer Hebrides Sea Trout Project
This project involves the tagging of sea trout taken in sweep nets in bays and estuaries in the Outer Hebrides. The aim of the project is to use information from recaptured fish to gain a clearer understanding of sea trout movement at all age stages within bays and estuaries. This project also aims to gain a clearer insight into the migration routes and behavior of local sea trout populations. The Outer Hebrides Sea Trout Project has been delayed for a number of reasons, with the funding carried forward; however, a number of fish were successfully tagged in 2016.
